We have transformed the practice of pain medicine to thoroughly diagnose and treat patients with complex pain conditions.
Because we work collaboratively within this environment, we have developed zones of expertise that allow us to focus in on the areas where we have specialized knowledge because of our shared approach. At 91视频, a zone of expertise is a collection of related conditions where we have specialized knowledge because of our collaborative nature. Our multiple sub-specialists will each be involved in the care of a patient within that zone to ensure that all of their needs are met across the multiple sub-specialties. It’s an area where we’ve developed deep experience, strong pattern recognition, and a more thoughtful, refined approach to how we evaluate and care for each patient.
Many of the patients we encounter aren’t coming to us with a single straightforward problem. Usually there is complexity and often that complexity spills into many different systems of the body. In order to adequately diagnose and treat these situations, we need multiple sub-specialists. Good care really starts with knowing what to look for. We know what questions to ask, how to organize our problem solving approach, and we have great experience developing care plans for patients within each of these zones.
We use the zones of expertise as an entry portal into our ecosystem. We start with the zone that most affects each patient and we divide and conquer within that zone. Each patient has a high level of focus on that defined set of problems. We have an intake process to ensure that the bases are covered and everything is caught.
Despite having multiple zones, the core of our approach is the same. It’s really to understand the how, what, and why of the process underlying the pain or the problem. We developed these zones to bring simplicity to what really are complex problems. We use the zones to focus our intake so that we have a thorough, reliable, consistent approach to understand what’s going on with each patient. We use this process to make sure that primary underlying issues are addressed. When we do this, we are able to make sure that all of the needs are identified and a comprehensive multidisciplinary treatment plan is developed in a way that’s personalized and meets each patient’s needs.

Complex chronic pain can involve primary pain generators, compensatory pain, central sensitization, inflammation, guarding, failed treatments, and nervous system amplification. MPM evaluates the full pattern to identify what is driving the pain and what should be addressed next.
Hypermobility can involve ligamentous laxity, joint instability, muscle guarding, recurrent sprains, subluxations, nerve irritation, dysautonomia, mast cell activation, and compensatory pain. Headache, facial pain, and TMJ dysfunction can involve migraine, upper cervical pain, trigeminal nerve sensitization, jaw dysfunction, intracranial pressure symptoms, and systemic pain amplification. Autonomic dysfunction, or dysautonomia, affects the body鈥檚 automatic regulation of heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, temperature, sweating, and stress response. MPM evaluates the structural, neurologic, inflammatory, immune, and pain-related drivers that may be disrupting autonomic balance.
The Psychology of Pain Zone helps patients understand how chronic pain affects the nervous system, emotions, identity, movement, medical trust, and decision-making. MPM uses pain psychology, biofeedback, trauma-informed care, education, and nervous system regulation to support the broader pain treatment plan.
Musculoskeletal dysfunction can involve muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments, discs, nerves, posture, compensation, and mechanical overload. MPM evaluates the full pattern to identify where pain is coming from, why it developed, and what treatment sequence may support more durable relief.
Autoimmune and inflammatory disorders can contribute to chronic pain, stiffness, fatigue, tissue sensitivity, nerve sensitization, and impaired healing. MPM evaluates the immune, inflammatory, structural, neurologic, and pain-related factors that may be driving symptoms.
Pelvic pain can involve the pelvic floor, pudendal nerve, bladder, bowel, reproductive organs, hips, sacroiliac joints, spine, blood vessels, connective tissue, and nervous system sensitization. MPM evaluates the full pattern to identify what is driving symptoms and what should be treated first.
